When this 1/2 car got in front of us from a 4-way stop sign,
I was almost tempted for the two of us to pull up on either side,
pick it up while riding and give it a little boost in horsepower....

Later, when we were exiting Waynesboro, I was pointing out
the opportunity for my brother to play Evel Knievel with the
flat-bed they left perfectly positioned for us...

Fortunately, neither of us made the attempt

A couple more pics from my brother while riding on the Antietam battlefield...

This one is approaching Bloody Lane:

And this one is while riding on the southern edge of the battle area between Burnsides Bridge and Snavely's Ford:

Antietam is an interesting site. Still not heavily developed compared to many civil war sites in the east and easy to follow the stages of the battle. I haven't been up there for several yrs. I went to the Balls Bluff site a few weeks ago--second smallest National Cemetery.

I wish that I had a picture of myself on my H1. When I saw one hanging on the wall at a Kaw shop several yrs ago, it scared me to think of how I used to tear around on that little thing. My first and last speed machine.

Enjoy your posts.

Thanks...

I definitely would have hurt myself had I kept it too long (I think I had it maybe six months) - That kind of power just begs to be unleashed... And gets you in trouble...

Out riding today - Temps in the lower 80's - Low Humidity - What a great day!!!

I did some riding in one of the state forests today - Off the tarmac and onto the gravel roads - Just me and the deer - Didn't pass anyone on this road...

Later, I enjoyed the beautiful sites of the harvested fields - This past week the farmers were all working to get the wheat harvested in upper 90° temps - That is really unpleasantly hot... Especially in the middle of a wheat field...

Ride Safe...

Making another ride in July, I enjoyed about 240 miles of riding not only my favorite roadway but finding new ones that were extremely enjoyable. I had no destination and no time constraints - Just the pure enjoyment of KT thundering down the asphalt, passing open fields and being cooled off by mountain forests...

What a great afternoon of riding...

I only took this one picture of an old steel bridge near Mt Holly Springs...

I got out last week for another ride in the middle of August. I waited for the latest storms to pass through, then took a short ride just to get some seat time.

I stopped for this picture of one of the many streams that flow under the small bridges that I cross when riding the back country.

I'm heading out for another ride this morning... More, later...

This ride was in mid-August - The temperature was in the mid-70's but with the wet weather we've been having, the ride today was rather cool...

I was riding with my brother - Our first stop was at the Gettysburg Battlefield - Devil's Den to be exact...

We also stopped at the monument to the 116th PA Volunteers...

As we left the park we stopped by the Sach's Bridge...

In the same area, I saw this old tree that had fallen across the stream but survived in that position to continue growing limbs as though they were new trees...

Our last stop of the day was at the Dellville Bridge - Years ago I had been here with my younger brothers on our motorcycles - but then some scumbag in 2014 set fire to the bridge, almost destroying it - Here the bridge is being reconstructed - Hopefully I'll be able to visit again next year and get a picture of the completed restoration...

Out riding again - just enjoying some nice weather for a change...

When I went out onto my porch, I saw this little lady munching in the front yard - her mother & sister were close by...

I rode thru apple country today - the trees are heavy laden and just waiting to be picked...

Later still, I was in the vicinity of Pine Grove Furnace State Park and thought I'd post a picture of the kind of log cabins which populate that area...

You can read the rest of my ride report at the link in my signature...
