Custom painted Forty-Eight tank
I just picked this up yesterday. A local painter/restorer, Slipstream Creations out of St. Charles, Missouri, did a fantastic job on it. My inspiration for it was a tank I saw online of a Knucklehead; the paint on that bike was more a fine gold mist/satin type finish. My only request to Slipstream were that I wanted a small, but not super fine flake on it, and they hit it out of the park.
Slipstream posted these pics - and a video of them spraying it - on their Instagram page.
I’m currently waiting for a fuel pump kit to arrive and some OEM screws for the bottom pump plate, then it’s going on my 48. This tank had been sitting in my basement for years. I got the tank from my dealer for next to nothing. It was a Vivid Black take-off from a ‘17 48 and it had zero miles on it.
The decals are repops.

they look familiar  this is the tank i painted for my 1960 XLCH.they were only used originally from 1958-1960.your tank paint looks outstanding!
