My point was how little some people care about the sacrifices others have made for them. Maybe it's not their fault if they have never been taught history, but damn, how can anyone not have heard of D Day or Pearl Harbor? Hell, maybe they are not even aware there was a World War II. Korea and Viet Nam have been forgotten.

She would have been aware if one of her offspring was serving.

I pay people like that no never mind mostly. Can't expect them to relate to me. So I don't relate to them,.

the anniversary of the invasion of Normandy was covered by my local newspaper, again.i'm glad.but it it also covered the name change of Ft Bragg.it's disturbing to me that powers to be are attempting to hide the fact that we had a war here in this country against fellow Americans...WTF??

This may be too political for the moderators, so I hope they don't hold it against me.

When the powers-that-be are done erasing all references to the Civil War, then when the question of reparations comes up, I'm gonna say "slavery? What slavery? There was no slavery." Let them be hoist by their own petard.

I make it a point on facebook to remind all the people of the sacrifices of our great military.
I make it a point to educate the youngin's at my work of what these days are and what they mean..
we can rely on others if we wish. but if we want to preserve our living history, then we need to take the actions to preserve it.

Perhaps an awkward statement. We have much more details about history than ever. Much more is known about other cultures, people, countries than we were ever exposed to in the past. Even new revelations about our own country's history are being uncovered all the time. Perhaps it's not "more" history, but certainly a more detailed picture than we had 40 years ago.

Is someone actually doing this? If so, who? and how? I need to be updated. So far I've missed this.
