Default More handlebar vibration with poly bushings???

Should be “With” poly...

My 1996 has always had considerable handle bar vibration. I had replaced the worn bushings with rubber a year ago and it helped a little.

My bars were the OEM originals, with 4.5” straight risers and GT grips.

I just changed the setup to Chump style bars (short mini narrow apes) short risers and red poly bushings, same GT grips.

The handle bar vibration is just BRUTAL. I just went out for a one hour ride and came back with numb white fingers in 80 degree F weather.

I think the riser bushing are isolated, the washers aren’t touching the triple tree or anything like that. IDK if it’s the bushings or the bars, or both.

I just read some of this thread and am considering some of the mods. The thread is 10 years old though.

Do you folks have any comment or suggestions?

A traditional "fix" is bar end weights. Just a piece of steel round stock slid into the bar end and welded. We'd save crash damaged bars with weights so we could cut the welds and re-use the weights in bars that didn't come with them.

If you do a search for "bar end weights" you'll find the aftermarket has lots of different flavors available.

Go back to stock rubber type!
I would think hard poly bushes are a no-no.

The poly bushings made the vibrations much better on my bike going from the stock drag cars to carlini t bars that are 32" wide 6"rise and 4" pullback.

Some people have glued rolls of pennies in there bar ends to help the issue your having many use the vibrinators sold by ricor.
