Default A surprising and nice experience (Peg Vibration)

Driving at highway speeds, rpm over some 3500 has previously made the pegs buzz so much that I was tempted to lift my feet off of them.

Lately I drove about 265 miles / 430km at higher than normal speed, around 90-95 miles/h and the vibrations in the pegs was bad as usual. However after some time, I suddenly noticed that the vibrations had reduced to a level where I didn’t notice them anymore.

They haven’t returned either - what a nice experience, although a bit wierd.

Milage was about 5500 at that point.

Or your feet just went numb due to the vibrations...

Heheh!

Well, I don't know about the phenomon you're experiencing. I also don't know how much a rubbermount vibrates. On a solid mount Sportster you can really feel where the bike feels 'happy'. It can take just a slight increase or decrease in speed that reduces the vibrations. And of course different pegs and even type of soles your boots are made of can make a difference.

Time to check the motor mounts to see which bolts fell out...

I prefer to think that the extended “high speed riding” has made things
“settle in” just the way H-D has envisaged, and now the bike is in perfect harmony :-)
