Every car I've owned since I sold my '70 Roadrunner (383, A3, 3.90 limited slip, Vitamin-C Orange, Air Grabber, Hemi/440 HD suspension).

'52 Chevy 4 door sedan. Paid $25 for it at a local garage. Mechanic's lien. Got it for what the guy that abandoned it would have paid for the repairs. 6-cylinder that burned a quart of oil every 500 miles, wouldn't go over 60 mph, & the 3 speed shifter was 2 rods sticking up through a hole in the plywood floor boards. The trunk wouldn't open without a pry bar. The shelf in the back window being gone was the trunk access. Didn't even have a key. It was a good drinking car, back in the days when the cops just made you park it & walk home.

Same car I had. It didn't look nearly as good though.

Also had a 1970 Ford pick up, three on the tree. I was on the expressway once and had a guy tailgating me. As I was glaring at him in the side mirror, the drivers door window came off the track and dropped straight out through the rusted out bottom of the door on to the highway.

The tailgater got showered with broken glass! He backed WAY off. Probably thought I threw something at him!

That is a horrid coloured Maverick! I go to car shows & enjoy looking at American cars but I've never seen a Maverick in the metal. Were they so bad no one thinks they're worth saving?
Found these 2 examples of unloved American cars at a local American car/bike/rock n roll meet. A Plymouth Volare Roadrunner & a Ford Pinto https://scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net...da&oe=5C2861F4

The only Maverick worth having was "The Grabber" with a massive 5 liter engine.

Compared to a Gremlin the Maverick is a beauty. Gremlins also came in crap green and chicken shit yellow. They were the ugliest cars to ever hit the roads.

I never owned one........ couldn't find any place to hide one.

It's ugly alright, were they any good when new? I quite like the Maverick Grabber, it should have a fair turn of speed with a 302

I never owned one. There were a few around. I don't know how reliable they were. Used to see the Gremlins that belonged to some teenage boys...... they would be the ugly yellow or green colour. The kids would put foot wide sets of black vinyl racing stripes down the middle of them and a "FEAR THIS" sticker on the back window. Almost caused me to crash several times from laughing while riding.

They were really impressive in the puke green after it faded for a few years and blue-grey exhaust smoke boiling out the tail pipe.

Mavericks were throw away econoboxes. Not only weren't they worth saving, you really couldn't. They began returning to the elements shortly after you paid them off!

A friend had a Gremlin with the 304 Cu In engine that he hopped up. It went like hell and was fun to drive! The old adage: It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow applies.

My buddies was an emerald green.
