All that for the discount price of $200. It lasted about a month.

I thought the slant six was one of the best engines ever built.

It was, in my mind. My first car was a 1976 Dodge Aspen sedan with a 225 slant six in it and four on the floor. Not much for horsepower whatsoever, but the torque seemed quite good for the motor size. I swear that you could dump sand into those motors and they would still run...

Still one of the best engines ever built. Defines bullet proof. When my son was in the army one of his buddies bought a new car. He drained the oil out of his old slant six and left it running in the parking lot and went to bed. It was still running in the morning.

Rumors are that Chrysler is working on a new straight six, possibly turbo charged.

Leyland Mini de Tomaso 1300 cc bought used in 1985..... the car obviously had some years more... 50k kms... of an alleged savage drive... a quart of oil every 1000 kms... suspensions with rubber pads instead of springs
broken in two halves the crankshaft on highway... made it back home only with 2 cylinders...
youth mistakes...

i was running on the coast in Romagna... to date with a french girl i had met the week before...
sadly she never believed me about the story of the broken car when finally i telephoned at her hotel from a thelephone booth on a service area....

1991 Dodge Caravan, bought new

When the paint peeled off our kids called it the leper

When the valve seals failed (twice) the kids called it the dragon(smoky)

While on it's 3rd transmission we gave it to my MIL

She loaned it to a grandson who ran it into a curb under heavy throttle tearing loose the A-arms on one side and shoving the motor/tranny back a bit.

game over

I had a Dodge Dart slant six, don't remember what year but it was a beater. Sold it to a guy who over rev'ed it, blew the #6 piston through the block which knocked the starter clean off!

It kept running and he drove it to a garage to see if it could be fixed!

Man I have to disagree on this. Had both and the Gremlin had constant issues (replaced 3 distributors, 2 timing belts, the fly wheel, 2 starters) and it never ran well the entire time I had it (2 years). The Chevette I bought with 85K on it and drove it to 225K and the only issue I had was one timing belt and using a little oil after 150K. The only reason I got rid of it was it was to small after my third kid.
