The engine looks to have the complexity of my Kawasaki Vulcan. Not for me!

I had a little conversation with fellow riders about Indian recently. A few take aways...

Many riders think they are quality bikes. Many think they have great power and handling as far as the big bikes. Many dont like the way they sound compared to Harleys. I heard more than one say something to the effect that they would bet there are more American made parts on the Indians than on the Harleys. ( I wonder if that is true?)

I also never heard the Scout mentioned at all. I guess I dont think that a new rider would want the Indian 1200 over the Sporty. That bike would compare to a R model right? I dont think many folks think of the R model as a beginner bike either.

I agree that it will be interesting to see how it plays out. If I had the money for a big bike the Road King would have to earn my purchase over the Springfield I will say that. It looks to me that the Indians are more costly. Did anybody hear what that 1200 Scout will cost compared to the Sportys?

That is a common question on the internet. No one knows yet. Which probably means lot's of dollars.
I am not in the market for new anything.

But I like to watch.

There is an Indian dealer right across the street from the local big Harley dealer, makes it easy to compare bikes. From what I've seen a comparable Indian is about 2K less than a Harley, and it has more nice features. Both brands big bikes are bigger than I care for but the Scout seems a good bet against a Sporty. The Scout looks better then it 1st did as you can get two tone paint now instead of the original mono tone paint. P.S. still a bunch more folks at the Harley dealer every Saturday.

Thumbs down Wow

This bike can do everything. My understanding is, Polaris has a quick docking attachment where you convert this marvelous machine into a personal water craft (jet ski). Just think of it, spend the day cruising with the Brothers then take a quick dip in a lake to cool off!
