Default i want a narrow/standard mustang vintage

i have a 2010 xl1200 low.
i have the factory 2 up low seat, and i have a lepara bare bones solo seat.
i hate them both, i need something better.

i hear the mustang vintage solo seat is a great option, so im gonna try it.
i dont want the wide vintage, i want the standard vintage.
i dont want studs or conchos, but i could probably live with them.
i will likely buy a passenger pillion to go with it.

i looked on their site, i see the standard "touring seat".
then i see the "wide vintage".
are the touring and vintage the same seat?

the usual suspects like j&p and revzilla are out of stock,
cause mustang shut down for covid.

any ideas on where and what to buy are helpful.
help me out please!

thx,
Joe

I think they are essentially the same seat. I wasn't sure which of the two I wanted so ordered both to compare. What I noticed, aside from the width, was the wide version sloped downward slightly towards the back, the standard had a more level seating surface. I had read other reviews saying the same thing. I went with the the wide and after breaking it in I don't notice the slope. FYI I have the 4.3 gal tank on my bike.

i have the 4.5 gallon tank on mine.
im pretty short, but i think i can live with the extra height of the mustang.
tired of my ass hurting after a ride.

Amazing...what a coincidence...I ordered yesterday a Mustang Solo Vintage seat at a website in Holland. It will be delivered to them between 11 and 25th of August. I didn't want the 'wide' either. The 'normal' one is 12.5" and the 'wide' is 15". Best is to look at the part numbers. But I know what you mean, there's no comparison on their website where you can see differences.

Did you try Dennis Kirk?

Joe, at the house I have two Mustang seats for the 2004 “R”, the wide with backrest and what might be the “Day Tripper” or standard touring. The wide is just over 16” the smaller one comes in at 14”. You’re welcome to try both if you’d like to get a first hand feel for them. I run the smaller one around here and on day runs, 3-400 miles is no problem. The wider one goes on when leavinving the State, have done 1,400 mile days on it. I previously sent you my phone number, it might have been a private message.

i think i found one, it has to be better than what i have!
my hips i doubt will ever allow that long a day anyway.
but i think i should be more comfortable after a 4 hr ride anyway.
