Default 2016 Sportster 1200 Custom No Stage information

I bought a 2016 Sportster 1200 Custom. It came with a Bassani 2 into 1 Exhaust and Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner. The Dealer that went out of business it the one that did any/all mods to it. The problem is they went out of business and the Dealer that bought their stock did not buy any paper work showing what had been done to it or any of the other bikes they purchased. I know it has had a Stage I upgrade but don't know about anything else. It does not have much low speed ability (no torque?) and seems to be set for speed. Other than it runs ruff at very low speeds and then it has a lot of power. Farm more than I expected out of a Harley. I am not sure how to set the ECM. It had never been licensed when I got it and had just over 300 miles that was used by the dealers. I really, really suspect more was done other than just the Stage I. Like I said it is very bad at really low speeds but then really has a LOT of power. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Without paperwork there's no way to know really short of tearing it apart. It's a 1200 so maybe some chicken cams. Sounds like you need a tuner.
I wouldn't think a dealer would do much more than a stage 1 and sounds like they didnt do a very good job at that.

Default Tuner

Thanks for the info. I have a tuner and set it for a Stage I and that does no good. So the only thing I can think of is to set the tuner for a Stage II. If that does not work I will try a Stage III. I absolutely know it has had more done than a Stage I. I will give it a try and I think that is probably all I can do. I am not going to tear it apart to find out. Thanks again for your reply.

I'm dubious about a 'tuner' that has to be set to 'Stage I', 'Stage II', etc. These are very broad definitions; one setting can't cover all the variations that qualify as 'Stage II' (for example).

Doesn't the tuner allow you to actually tune it? The better ones will auto tune for you.

The training for the HD SE Pro Street tuner at the second link above will guide you to the tuning process.

Your 2 into 1 exhaust is not listed for any of the tunes available in the SE Pro Street tuner software. It only has tunes for Harley intakes and exhaust systems.

You will need to run several Smart Tune recordings to make adjustments. The Street Tuner has a limited amount of adjustment range and may not completely adjust for the 2 into 1 exhaust.

The good SE Tuners(Race), both for FI bikes and carbed(timing only) are no more unless you're able to find an nos on ebay or something. You can thank the EPA and their multi million dollar fines they stuck HD with for selling the race tuners.
The local indy here bought a shit ton of these street legal ones for $15 apiece because they're pretty much useless for any kind of decent tune. Think he sells them for like $60 or something along those lines.
HD probably still sells them like they're as good as the race versions.
