Default SOLVED: Help me ID this bike

EDIT: Thanks for the help!

First things first: I just got this bike from a crowded garage from a local guy, and I DID NOT CHOP OR HARDTAIL IT, it was like that when I got it. I personally hate the idea of doing that to such a classic bike, but it looked like a neat project and I may try to put it back close to stock. Now that that is out of the way.....

Got this bike last week. Guy was selling it as an XL with no papers, same old sad "I was going to get it running but I have too many projects" story. The engine serial reads number (see picture below) but there were supposed to be 239 made in 58 and the serials start at 1000, seems like too high.

Now, its definitely a 58 judging by the matching belly numbers (see below).

Thing is, that would make it either an XL, XLH, XLCH, or and XLRTT. Production numbers are as follows:

XL: 579
XLH: 711
XLCH: 239
XLRTT: 26

Notice how none of them go up to? That has me scratching my head. How is there a serial up to if there were no XLs of any type produced in 58? Yeah maybe the CH was stamped in later, maybe, but the numbers look spot on from the samples I've seen online and fit HD's pattern according to the VIN ID book I use. This thing is kickstart only, which I think excludes XLH, and had a magneto and horseshoe oil tank which does fit the profile of an XLCH. The frame date stamp is missing thanks to the ape who decided to cut up the frame, or I would have included that too.

So what's your best guess at what this actually is? Not that it will matter much in the restore, but its killing me not to know. I really appreciate any help here. Luckily I have nearly all the old parts from it, including front end and swing arm so it may return to near former glory at some point.

Without any ownership paperwork you will most likely need to get the bike inspected. The process varies by States. I wouldn't spend any time or money on it until you know for sure you can get a title.

I've already got the title bond paperwork submitted, I'll have a bonded title by the end of the week.

Ok, that makes way more sense. I had thought about that briefly but without anything to go on I thought I was on the wrong track.
