I am a total newbie, so I don't know anything, but I do know I like stock bikes mostly, at least to start from. The rusted floorboards and big tractor brake pedal were not for me, so since I have to go somewhere first, I will go to stock mid. See how I like that first. All my bike have been mid controls, so that's what I know. This one does have the buckhorn bars tho, so I won't know how that feels until I try it.
BTW, I am 62 years old, 5'9" 150lbs, with plenty of arthritis in my hands and back, FWIW. I like the look of straighter bars, but don't think I could ride in that position for long.

I've always preferred buckhorn type bars, for me they are more comfortable, 5'7" 135, 71 years young.
