So I’ve got the top end torn down. My machinist is taking a look at the heads and I’ve got a set of used cylinders that I’m gonna give the stroker treatment to and fit them to my existing stroker pistons. I’ve decided instead of brazing the old returns, I’m going to use extreme heat JB Weld made specifically for metals, including cast iron.

In the meantime, I looked into the crank about a week ago and siphoned near half a bottle of oil out of the sump (approx. 400ml). Just looked in there today and it’s all drained back into there. Leaking check ball valve? What to do here? Open to suggestions.

Also what rings to you guys recommend I order

What about driving some thin wall tubing down the drain hole far enough to block off the old not well brazed holes?
-Jesse

Oops, missed the post that said they’re cracked.

Yeah, if it weren't for the cracks I was going to attempt this. I've read that a few people on here have used epoxy instead of brazing with success. Did some research and the best epoxy I've found is this right here -
