You spend enough time on each machine to work out it’s quirks. You have to work them out, otherwise it’s a miserable time trying to keep up and to keep it smooth for your body’s sake. But you have your favourites.
The impersonal part is the cleanliness of the machine, inside and out, there’s no ownership when you are moving from machine to machine.

The $30 pulley arrived yesterday. My wife sent me a few photos. Looks ok in the pictures for the price.

Looks pretty good. Mine looks worse and it's still working fine.

First day of my days off this week I put the new 2nd hand 70t pulley on, helped my wife for a few hours in the garden, then I was throwing a ball for the dogs to fetch, bent down to pick up the ball and “crunch”.. my back gave out. So I’ve been laid up for a few days. Feeling better today and fuelled up on pain killers I decided to finish off the tuning I started last week. But I couldn’t get the auto tune to work. It kept coming up with the error WBF! and WBR!

I spent hours checking connections, wideband sensors, downloading the latest software and firmware, researching, rechecking everything a dozen times but still couldn’t get it working. Then just when I was about to give up I find a broken wire on the canbus cable, the one that goes from the autotuner to the powervision. I’m not sure how this happened, maybe I damaged it or it has worn through, either way it’s damaged and needs fixing or replacing. I’ll try repairing it tomorrow and get back to tuning. Not having much luck this week

Hi Davo,

Any miles clocked up with the Gazi shocks yet?
Time to do something about the shocking state of the suspension on my 1200R.
The blokes at 'suspension improvements' are recommending YSS as a better finished option.
Early days but they seem confident they can make it good, back and front.
Hope ya back is mending ok, cheers.

The Gazi shocks are an improvement to handling over what I had but reliability hasn’t been tested. That will take years. It’s abit of a gamble going with such an unknown brand but I wanted to give the local blokes a chance. I like doing business with the small guys. They are more hands on, and don’t mind the suspension uneducated like myself ringing them up and asking stupid questions. If you trust your guys and value their opinions go for it. YSS have been around awhile so they must be doing something right.
