i live 3 miles from the att tower and get shinola for service. true i use consumer cellular which piggy-backs att and t-mobile. i have a metal roof that can add to the issue, BUT, when att get high traffic from their system, guess who they throttle back.
father went from driller to derrick, yep, he increased his work load but probably was a stronger person because of it. he probably got so tuff he could crack open an old coke-a-cola bottle cap with the butt cheeks (before screw tops).
nowdays' machinery has taken over his job. bet-ya he was a tuff dude.

Reminds me of when I had a pager and the only place it would work was on top of the coffee maker.

Yeah, he was the toughest I've ever known.
Mean as Hell when needed.,, ask the electric meter reader, my 5th grade teacher... to many to list.
But he had the one thing I never could establish.
He knew when to throttle back.
Nicest person you ever met when not riled.
He and his brother raised themselves in New Mexico from teenagers.
Be at the truck at 5AM or you don't work today.

He went to Nam, First Cav, and I guess that's where he learned the value of talking things out (in his own persuasive style..).
As the alternative would be ..........
He didn't like to talk about that much.
I miss him more every day.

Anyway I've got a friend who gets lease money from a tower company.
They don't do a lot of maintenance to it though.
