Default Salt Rattler prepares for 2015 World of Speed

After a very successful rookie outing at the 2014 WOS, thoughts now turn to preparing for next year.

There will be some modifications to reduce drag. These may include modifying the ballast box because it sticks down below the crankcase, removing the instrument box and mounting the PV and AEM gauge directly to the upper triple tree, and sectioning the gas tank so I can get into a lower riding position.

Other possibilities include having the cases bored to accept larger cylinders so I can get to the 1350 class size limit, different exhaust cams and exhaust valves and gearing changes.

All that is needed is 11 mph to get the record!

There is also the S&S 3 5/8 bore kit, 3.625 inch bore. You would leave some displacement on the table, but it's off the shelf parts.

I don't know how custom he wants to build it, just putting options out there. It would be one less custom part needed, apart from the pistons.

Definitely going with the same custom turbo piston design that I'm running now, so Aaron is on top of it. Biggest deal is having the cases bored. I do need to pull the motor apart and see how the crank is doing, as it may need a teardown anyway. Ten runs at Bonnie could be tough on it, but really full boost was only happening on 2 runs.

Actually I'm more concerned with what will happen in 2015. Now that I've figured out how to ride it I'll expect to be putting in hard pulls every time, so the abuse will be multiplied next outing.
