I just now spoke with Samantha, there ARE still rooms available. 4 'Doubles', 1 'King', and 2 Apartments. Do NOT, repeat, Do NOT try to book 'online', you'll get a "No Vacancy" because she blocked out the place just for us, and you won't get the Special Group Rates that are being offered to us. You MUST CALL at (304)866-4166 and tell them that you're part of XL-Forums Meet and Greet.

I am leaving the Saturday before, meeting up with mick and depending on the weather will depend on if we get there Sunday or Tuesday. So far only 20% for Saturday and Sunday. 40% for ever after it seems like. Going to get a good test of the new rain gear. Hopefully not. Last time they called for rain a few times and it only rained in spots. When your in the mountains you can't predict the weather to well. It will be raining on one side of the mountain and not the other. Only thing I can't decide on now is if I should bring my usual gear and rain jacket or if I should buy a suit that is waterproof and not have to deal with having to stop to put on the rain gear.

I think a Harley Davidson rainsuit that was such a pain in the ass that by the time I finally got it on...it would stop raining. From that point, I felt like I was wearing a 'Baking Bag' because it was so hot and didn't breathe. Last year the woman that lives downstairs gave me a waterproof textile riding jacket that she only wore a few times. I l liked it so much that I bought a matching pair of overpants that can zip together with the jacket. Add my waterproof Harley boots and my waterproof gauntlets, along with a Full Face helmet and I'm ready for almost anything. (I don't have to stop and put on my rainsuit...AND....I feel like a Sportster Paul Wannabe. )

That's what I have been thinking as well pat. I'm just afraid of sweating to much in the textile jacket I will be just as wet as if I ride through the rain. Plus it is a royal pain finding something that fits me. They don't make much that fits short fat guys like me by the time I get something that will fit around my gut the arms are so long I need to cut 6" off them to make them fit me. But then again I did wear an insulated leather jacket when in it odd the country in Wyoming when it was 95+ out and as long as i was moving i was fine.

Why in the Hell would anybody be a “Sportsterpaul” wannabe? Old and crippled and just a fair weather rider.
Gotta admit since getting the “Aerostich” AD1 goretex pants my wet weather riding has been simplified. Additionally the “Tourmaster” Transition 3/4 coat proved equally dry in the rain soaked “Mile” excursion. 6 out of 8 days of rain and bone dry. Another great gear addition. Greg, “Michigan” Fred and myself should be there for the Meet n Greet, not sure about anymore “Posse”?

Water world on wheels.

Even though my BMW Summer Jacket and FirstGear pants have never even got me damp, I’m just getting ready to recharge both water proof systems with some NIKWAX.
Got my cloths washer in a clean tub cycle now. When that finishes I’ll wash them with NIKWAX ‘tech wash’ to clean and prep the fabric, then rewash again in NIKWAX ‘TX.DIRECT WASH-IN’ to recharge the water proof system to new.
After they dry I’ll then spray them down with NIKWAX ‘TX.DIRECT SPRAY-ON’ to make them better than new. Also going to hit the boots with some mink oil.

I hate riding wet and it is hard not to get dumped on during a forum gathering this time of year.
