Fixing or replacing primary cover for a 1975 xlh?
It appears that the primary case has been repaired at one point in its life. It currently leaks at the previous weld. The chrome is peeling off as well. Am I better off having someone weld this and then rechromed ? Or getting an aftermarket one? Jp has one for 245. Or should I buy a used one off ebay ?

I know where I can get one cheap, it's at a shop, the owner is a good friend, I'd bet he'd sell it to me for 20$.

improper repair, not stress relieved. best to find a replacement. chrome, NO unless you find a die cast cover, the old sand cast ones will never hold on to chrome, blisters inside out.
