Sportster - no windshield, had one for a month at the end of a season for cold riding, and never will again. It’s my fun back roads bike and the windshield takes away from the experience.

Sport touring bike - fairing, taller windshield and that will stay. It’s a purpose built bike for going long distance at a good rate of speed.

These make my windshield a breeze to handle.

Unclamp from fork tubes in seconds.

Memphis Shades, I got mine from Amazon, pricey though compared to some of the China knock-offs on Amazon, which are probably just fine. I did get the Amazon el cheapo mount kit, it is of good quality.

Here is Fairing and Quick Detach kit from China. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NWDS9D2...ding=UTF8&th=1

Do these replace the "factory" clamps, HD uses on their Accessory w/s?
It'd be kinda nice to be able to lock my w/s, to the bike, in unknown territory.
I only use my w/s on longer trips, when I know weather is going to be a factor, plus it keeps the wind from beating me to death on a 300+ mile trip.

I think you can get them with or without the locks on the clamps. I was comparing my 15 year old windshield to one on my friend's bike that was is only two years old but with many upgrades and his windshield was identical to mine but with the locks.

I think the idea is supposed to be that you replace one of the clamps with a locking one.

Besides the fact that the four clamps hold the windshield super secure (never, ever vibrates in the wind) is that the whole unit can be removed without tools in two minutes when maintenance is necessary. Excellent design.
As old and ragged as mine looks, I would hate to lose it. I'll have to get a locking bolt for it.

Broke one when bike dropped. Used on ebay for single replacement was 20 bucks plus some shipping.

Looks like chinese pewter where the break is since it is cast aluminum.

Threw the old one away so no picture.

They sell lockable clamps with keys for those that need them.

Las Vegas Harley Davidson says they carry them.

They sell them quarter fairing kits that include fairing and those clamps on ebay also for about 120 bucks round about.
