oil drain hose leak

Sometimes there is a small puddle under my bike, sometimes not. I think it is leaking at the drain hose, and traveling down it to it's lowest point. My bike has the hose terminating on a stud. I have tried tightening the gear clamp, but the rubber is 27 years old, so I just want to replace it.

I'm a little confused looking at the FSM, but I think it is telling me HD doesn't sell the particular hose for the bike, just 25' lengths of hose.

I'm wondering two things, new short pieces of hose don't usually like to be bent, does it matter in this case since it's only a drain hose?

And what size is it? 3/8 x 5/8 is what I THINK it is. Should just be able to head over to NAPA or Autozone and buy a piece, correct?

If you cut it the right length, you can bend it without kinking it.
I use auto fuel hose from the local car parts store.
The tee at the bottom is 1/2" up, 1/2" to drain plug stud, 3/8" to oil pump.
Kinking that hose may show up a a leak later, so try to not.
