Default rear tire

How much of a no-no is it to run the rear tire backwards? I noticed they mounted my new rear tire with the arrow pointing in the wrong direction!

I would think it's not a good idea at all.

Which model of Buell is this?

For modern tires it's a no-no for sure.

Tread pattern is only one thing.
The tire design of the belts on a rear tire is to deal with forces when accelerating.
On the front it's the opposite for braking.

I change a lot of tires in my shop and I check the direction a few times before I put air in it.

The tire is designed for strength and durability to rotate in the direction of the arrow. Also the tread pattern is designed to disperse water, dirt and dust in the direction of the arrow.
