My 2 cents.
Tell me about it. Aren't these guys something else? A huge help and I wouldn't be able to work on my baby without them.

At one time it was $30.00, then went to $40.00, it's now $20.00. I think it is set up to automatically renew. You have to let Paypal know not to renew.

I lowered it to $20 a couple years ago and put out that if anyone who had the higher subscription wanted the lower one that they can cancel the higher one and resubscribe if they want the lower one. Quite a few did.

Sorry you feel fleeced but I think I was completely open about it when I made the change.

Its set up where you can hardly use the forum unless you pay. Its like you are being forced to pay if you want to come on here. It rubs me the wrong way.

Well, its true that this Forum, without paying, it is to use, plus I really miss not having the Private Messages Storage capacity as when I was a paying Member.... had to delete everything so to be able to receive a few PMs.

I would gladly pay the 20 bucks a year, at the end of the day running a Forum has its costs too and this is a good one to be part of. What pisses me off is that you can only pay via PayPal.... and PP and I are not good friends from long time ago.

I did offer to Bert to send him a cash transfer from my bank account to his, but he refused to do it that way.

Oh well, life goes on.

Nothing is really free - the cost/expenses must be paid by someone at sometime in some way...

Over-the-air TV is 'free' except for the advertisements. You can pay for watching the same thing without advertisements. Some do that - some live with the ads.

I've heard that you can use a credit card to send money thru Paypal without having a Paypal account. I don't know the details.

Not everyone can be accommodated with alternative options. But 95-99% of the users here are going to be able to deal with the current options.

I saw the demise of the Sportster.org support group - It's ugly to see so much knowledge flushed down the drain - I'm active here to help prevent that from happening again.
