XL1200R Enquiry
Hi All
I have just come across some photos on-line of the XL1200R with the 4.5 US gallon tank fitted, one photo was from a dealer in the USA and the other was from a dealer in Germany. Both bikes appeared to be in standard factory condition. I have never seen one of the models here in the UK, does anyone know if the 1200R fitted with the 4.5 US gallon tank was ever offered in the UK? Also does anyone know what years these models had the 4.5 US gallon tank fitted?
Thanks, Dave.

I believe the 4.5 gal tank was only offered on XL1200R in 2008 (at least in the US).

Major changes for 2008 Sportsters include the change to 25 mm hollow axles (front and back) and 1200R's get the 1200C's larger fuel tank.

My 2007 1200R came with a 3.3 gallon tank
I found a 4.5 gallon tank and had it painted to match the color. This is how what it looks like now
