I love it when the noises are normal!
175 miles is usually easily attained on mine, but for some reason I have run out at 175 miles too. I only had to push a half mile.
OTG I suppose. Its nice to romp for 100+ miles on a Sportster...

I wonder if the fuel pump for efi takes up some of the space because my carby '06 has taken a little over 4.4 gals and I was on reserve nearing fumes. I've gotten 184 miles before hitting reserve as my best. Usually make it to 160-170 miles before I hit reserve. I've also had to hit reserve at 110 miles.

My ride to work since moving is right at 50 miles one way. I ran a full tank for two round trips just to check, I made it home, but it sputtered on takeoff the last 12 miles, 202~204 miles and just over 4 gallons to fill it when I went to the gas station. Still ran fine once going, unless I gave a hard twist.

The light comes on usually around 110 miles to 120 miles usually.

Burnin' last years tank out, got me 42mpg. 2nd tank, this year, got me 45mpg. 3rd tank got me 46mpg. 4th tank was up to 49mpg, with a fresh oil change. We'll see what this one gets.

When the low fuel light comes on, I look for a Shell station first then a Chevron station and fill up ASAP.....and that is between 130 and 140, depending on how strong the tailwind is. So very hard to push one of these bikes...but once you do, you will appreciate your engine....I know I do.

Actually have the light coming on at 130 miles every once in a while, did about 160 miles on the last tank and put 3.5 Gal. in this morning, close to 50 miles was city traffic over the weekend.
