My first trip across was in 1970 helping a friend move to Az from Va. The trip back was great....with no phone, no food, no pet. In school, I would spend the day on mountain fire roads miles from anywhere, no sweat. Today, I am skeert on a bike that if down, needs the wife to come get me....I like reliability now...less adventure, yes. A shame, yes indeed.

Post Script. Just took the beast out for a run, and guess what.....ALL of the former stumble and grumble at light load is history. So, was it the new tmap or did the fuel pressure just degrade unnoticed and be the cause. I had checked fuel pressure a couple times after the rebuild of the pump assy, so I will guess the tmap may have been a problem. The off idle issue was with me with the original pump and the new one even with good measured pressure. But, for now, this is the first time this thing has been behaving itself...runs as it should. I am almost happy. I will shut up for a while and see how things go.

I'm glad you're enjoying being back in the wind...

Any issue is a real pain, but intermittent ones especially - It takes a while of reliable riding before you get your faith back that it's going to run without those issues... So keep an eye on it and try to rebuild your trust in it...

Ride on...
