Just filled up after my last couple of trips out and it is 58.73 UK mpg or 48.9 US mpg.

This is a trike, right? If it is, your getting dang good mileage compared to other Trike riders I've talked to in the past (average 20-30mpg)

Yeah, trike............... mine is stripped down, bare bones. Most of the factory trikes are pushing as much frontal area as a small car.

My 2006"R" consistently gets 55-60, with an occasional 65. Good for a stage one 1200. I sometimes wonder how much my IST ignition influences that? My 2004"R" with a little more motor is a solid 40-45. Maybe one day I need to switch up ignition for curiosities sake. Now the 2000"C", with an 89" is right at 50-55, go figure.

Stage 1 883R, low 50s UK gallons roughly. Not so bad on the hard stuff for a big bike

Wow, that's fantastic! The best I've ever got on a 1200 is 46½ mpg (that's US; about 56 mpg imperial).

Even on the 883 the best I got was 48½ (58½ imp), and that was when it was restricted to 34 bhp. Unrestricted the best was 42 (50½ imp).

My Orange, (2006), may be a freak, but I’ve had Greg,”Sprink” double check me on several occaisions. That’s why the 2004 has been such a disappointment mileage wise. Makes me curious now if the other couple members on site get similar mileage? I did contact S&S by phone and asked if they had the pieces to put another IST ignition kit together and the answer was no.

2007 1200C 31 mpg - trip radius of 140 miles with a 4.5 gallon tank. 31 mpg represents city and or highway mileage. Both same same / no difference since day one. Touring is out of the question unless you count the distance between gas stations.
