yeah and when I get to fly on the private jet over first class. I chose the private jet, but that doesnt mean first class is a bad way to fly.

[I agree, when the private jet is booked, I would have no problem flying first class[/I]

HeHe.......yeah, my wife was some P***ed when I told her we couldn't tour on the Sporty anymore. Then, she caught on and nixed the idea of another bike in the stable! I'd NEVER sell my Sportster!

People believe what they are conditioned to believe. If HD loaded a Sportster with bags, windshield & floorboards and included it in the "touring" model lineup, people would see the bike differently.
They tried in the late 70's with the XLT I think it was called. needless to say it did not sell well.

When I ride my dad's dresser i feel like I am riding on the back of a fat woman on rollerskates. I have ridden my bike to Fla twice. From Sturgis to Yellowstone and back. Do 300+ miles in a day with the Forum Lake Erie run. Needless to say my bike has 150,000 miles on it.

Well I have 3 Sportsters and a Dyna T-Sport. The FXDX is said to be
the best handling of the BTs and the Touring version has the fairing
and saddlebags for the long trips. I love that bike. But I still switch
back and forth between my bikes for the long trips.

This year I did my long trip (WY to TX, 4000 miles) on my 2001 XL1200S
Never during the trip did I think, "I should have bought my Dyna."

BUT I've rented baggers on some of my business trips in CA and Canada
and many times while riding those beasts through the mountains I've wished that I had my Sporty.

I prefer a small Learjet -- with only 4-6 passengers -- it flies higher, faster and is much more fun than a commercial plane.

But since I can't afford to rent (or buy) a Lear, I guess I'll have to save up and take my Sporty on long trips.

Those are gutsy bikes. I know a guy in OK that competes with one in endurance rallies. He usually beats me handily. In the last Iron Butt Rally, when one of the antique Norton riders blew his motor and wanted a replacement bike for the hopeless class, Mike offered his Ninja. That 250 Ninja finnished 2/3rds of the 11 day 11K mile rally. They are gutsy bikes.

While I was "not touring" on my Sporty last year in Tennessee, I met a fella from Indiana who was headed for Charleston SC on a Honda Ruckus. That takes more patience than I have. I think them things are under 150cc. He told me the thing would only do about 40mph! HEY, you can't tour on THAT bike!!! LOL
