Default Inner Rocker Boxes

Hi,

I have a 2001 Californian 1200 Custom & I wish to replace the inner chrome rocker boxes.

I've not removed all rocker box set from the heads as yet to confirm p/n on them.

When I've searched from Ronnies Parts finder for Chrome Inner Boxes
Two part # apply for that model from parts search box p/n 17537-96 & p/n 17537-96C
When you go to the exploded diagram value cover ASSBL diagram
P/N 17537-96C SSPN superseded part # is showing

Should i only install the SSPN 17537-96C & P/N 17537-96 is for earlier models or its prone for failure if installed.

Advance thanks on which P/N is suitable

Hi Pete G, welcome to the Forum.

You started your thread in the 'Forum FAQ / How To' section, which is for posts about the Forum, and how to use the forum functions, so I've moved it to the 'Motor - Top End' section.

An alphabetic suffix usually denotes an equivalent part (improved in some way, or maybe just a change of supplier) which supersedes the older part.

The "C" is just a revision code. If it supersedes the previous part number it will be compatible.
