I had original bearings with some crud on them and a stuck on tire. And wanted to polish up the aluminum and brake disk.

No, I didn't think to ride it without the beads first, but I do know the wheel was out of balance. I had it on my static balancer, and it obviously had a heavy side.

You had it on your static balancer so YOU KNOW it had a heavy side but you didn't balance it using your static balancer?

Nope. I had an issue with the cones and the dust seals, and a couple of guys mentioned the beads, so I tried them.

Otherwise I would have balanced it myself.

Good for you, they are my go to anymore, no more fugly weights stuck on the rim or hanging off a spoke.

I never heard of these beads but will read up. Just got a new night dragon on the front and I noticed when I got home with the wheel my guy didn’t put any weights on it. Rode for a couple hours and no issues so far.

Tucker use radiator fluid to balance their tire; three once in a syringe and auto-balance.

The reason I asked is because I have never been able to notice an unbalance while riding, even when they were way off, so putting beads in and riding it wouldn't prove anything to me unless I saw the results on a balancing machine. I'm sure a way out of balance tire could show itself under hard cornering over rough pavement, but I think we would all be hard pressed to feel it under most circumstances.
