Default Inserting links to older threads

How do I insert a link to a older thread where it will take you right to that thread without having to tell them to google at bottom of the page?

There is a button right next to the insert pictures button that allows you to insert links.

In the thread you want to link to, look at the url. At the end of the url is the thread number.

Type into your thread:
[thread=nnnnn]title[/thread]
where nnnnnn is the thread number, and title is the wording that you want to appear in your link. This could be the name of the thread, or anything else you want to appear there.

For example, say I wanted to link to my thread: 'Extreme Custom Engraving: Billet Derby Covers'. The thread number for that thread is: 218685.

So I would need to put something like this in my post:
Look at this thread: [thread=218685]Extreme Custom Engraving: Billet Derby Covers[/thread]
And it would appear as:
Look at this thread: Extreme Custom Engraving: Billet Derby Covers
Or I could put:
[thread=218685]Look at this thread, it's great![/thread]
and it would come out as:
Look at this thread, it's great!

If you want to go to a particular post in the thread, you need to find the post number.

Say I wanted to link to that same thread, but with the link taking you to post # 17. Looking at that post, if you click on the '17' of the '# 17' (in the post header), it opens just that post in a new window, and you can see in the url that the post number is 1523498.

Then you need to put this in your post:
[post=pppppp]title[/post]
where pppppp is the post number that you got from the url, and title is the wording that you want to appear in the link, as before.

So, for example:
Look at [post=1523498]this[/post] post by snowman showing his points cover.
and you get:
Look at this post by snowman showing his points cover.
