Dealer was Stars and Stripes in Langhorne PA
1. HD offers a turn signal relocation kit (it also adds a third saddlebag mount point)

2. HD offers an engine guard that I'm sure you could add highway pegs to.
(it says it also fits the 21 and later RH1250S)

Gee thanks ... now both of my initial reasons for not buying one are gone ...

On a serious note, glad to see they have accessories such as these available already

Saw one today. Looks pretty good. Wonder how long it'll be there. They said the Pan Ams are selling well.

I sat on one, and it really felt a lot lighter with the fuel tank under the seat.

I had a chance to to ride both the sportster S and the new Nightster at a local Harley demo day yesterday.

First impressions on the demo ride. The Sportster S was not for me, I did not like the styling. The one I rode hade mids and getting the kickstand up and down was very awkward. I did not feel planted in the seat. The gauge was amazing. The ride modes were great. Plenty of braking. The acceleration was amazing I did not like the big tire on the front, lots more effort on the turns.

The Nightster, I loved how it looked compared to the Sportster S. I wish they would have put the 1250 in it. That being said it had plenty of power and I thought it handled very well. Bike is very nimble. I did not like the foot pegs I thought they needed to be flatter and wider but that is personal preference(need more seat time) The gauge is not as nice as the sportster S but it does give you everything you need and is easy to read. The ride modes are nice. I did not see much difference from road mode to sport mode but again need more seat time. As far as the seat I did feel more planted. The braking was sufficient even with the single caliper. The plastic covering the radiator is ugly and the hand controls are the same as the Sportster S except without all the extra stuff they put on that bike like cruise and the menu navigation. Kind of made it look cheap and plasticky. The turn signal switch was on the left hand control and that took some getting used to because I am used to the standard Harley set up. The red line is over 9000RPM.

I also got the chance to ride the Low Rider S the ST and the Road Glide ST. The funny thing is the smallest bike I rode I felt that I had the most room on. My knees did not feel like they were in my chest on the Nightster. Like they did on the other three. The Road Glide was not too bad, but the Low Riders I felt very pinched and that my knees were up too high. A seat that moved you up and back some would have been much better. I am 6' 1" with a 34" inseam. Except for that the low riders were great and the the new Softails handle very well. Probably better than my FXR.

The only bike I rode on the demo that I almost instantly fell in love with was the Nightster. I damn near went in and ordered one on the spot. Of course all of these are just first impressions and more seat time could change my mind.

I haven't seen one yet, but my curiosity is growing. I think I'll try a demo ride before I make any further judgements.

Starting today is rev max tour in the UK.

My local dealer will have bikes on the 21st with some kind of option to keep the bike for 10 days.

Ohio Bike Week just started. Thinking about heading up to Sandusky. The demo truck will be there all week.

Did you go? Did you do a Demo Ride? If so; did you like it?

Inquiring minds want to know.
