The Pittsburgh Police used something like these side wheels for a few winters:

Hack: requires constant steering effort to maintain your line (wide bars + low trail), must have 100 lb. ballast in the chair for anything like normal control when empty, brakes are a learning curve, shorter life for rear tire. Can come off, but lots of work to attach again.
Trike: goes straight by itself, carries as much stuff as you want, weight diff doesn't affect handling, tows a trailer better, does wheelies, yes you can corner with 1 wheel up, rear tires last much longer.

Does anybody know anything about Safer Wholesale's sidecars? I'm looking at their Rocketeer.
It is my understanding that if the chair geometry is properly set up it tracks straight. Is this delusional on my part?
