One of the many things that attracted me to the Roadster, the speedo has a very cool tach.

I'm coming from the opposite direction. I want to get a new (2016-up) Roadster and I'd like to put a separate speedo and tach on it. I prefer having two separate analog style instruments. My research hasn't been all that thorough; but everything I've seen leads me to believe that it isn't possible.

Is it possible? Does anybody know how to achieve this?

Any interest in selling your roadster speedo?

If you get just a speedo (2017-later is CANBus) you can add a triggered tachometer by tapping into the BCM-to-Coil trigger signal.

Even if you have the dual speedo/tach, if having a separate tach to look at is important, you can add one that is triggered off the coil as above.
