This is what I'm talking about:
https://www.amazon.com/Valvoline-20W...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

The silver bottle is the conventional oil and has about 1400 ppm ZDDP. The black bottle is full-synthetic and has about 1200 ppm ZDDP. Both of these oils have exceptional shear/anti wear properties, but the high phosphorus content will foul catalytic converters over time.

Using an idiot light to change oil is like waiting for an idiot light to tell you when to add oil. Like the manufacturer has any clue how the vehicle is driven. They're called idiot lights for a reason.
I've never liked idiot lights in any way, shape or frame. By the time they come on, the damage is done and the light only tells you what has already happened. Anyone who trusts the new cars to tell you how much "life" is left in their oil is extremely gullible. My wife and my daughter's cars have these lights and I have to go through the menu on the instrument panel to reset them to "0". Otherwise, the stupid things will go on when the oil is relatively new. I guess they're based on miles or hours driven. At any rate, my best guess is the oil idiot light is based on an average of close to 10K miles or equivalent hours. Some corporate engineer in a cubicle designed an expensive replacement for the "reminder sticker" that used to be stuck on the car's windshield or door frame.
I change my car and truck oil at 5000 miles because they are liquid cooled and hold more oil.
My air cooled Sporty never goes over 2500 miles on motor oil and 5000 miles on primary/transmission oil (hey, it's only a quart).
