well xxxx me... i just pulled the heads on my engine.. first time.. to see that it got 883 heads on but what seems to be a wiseco 883 to 1200 reverse dome kit on..

this will set me alittle back as far as headwork this vinter.. any tips on what to do? i did plan on just getting a port job and maybe a bigger valve.. but that aint gonna do it with 883 heads right..

Damn I hoped I had found a pair of thunderstorm heads.

After further inspection I found out that they are lightening heads.

I will keep on looking for some better heads.

Not really planning much this winter except for a few small changes and to freshen everything up. Two step just needs wired up and against most people’s thoughts I’m going back to the stock xb 34 tooth crank sprocket. I’m not going to dish out the cash for aluminum, just put the factory back on and add 4 teeth to the rear. Seems that worked for me better or I could make it work better than the 30 aluminum sprocket. My lack of ability, motivation or whatever in clutch tuning. Looking to have a super consistent 6.20-6.30 bike. This was my first year of really concentrating on Consistency. And it was fun because that’s what I like racing.

engine is apart now... planning on getting a bigger 883 conversion valve on my 883 heads and a port job...

i will keep the 883 chamber and run with them stock flat top 1200 pistons to keep my compression high and run this with my SE 497 cams..

Dont know yet how much compression it will give with 883 heads and stock flat top 1200 pistons.. anyone got some info on that?

I hear ya on consistency, this was my first year bracket racing and I wasn't really consistent at all, just trying to get somewhat comfortable with the bike and go as quick as possible every run. Only got about 50 runs on the bike this season, was starting to get it dialed in but next year will be better.

This long and cold off season I'll be re-wiring the bike, getting rid of the left over stock X1 bundle and multiple splices, get some color coding going on etc.

The oil tank ( half round, looks like an old Slims Fab Farm tank? ) has multiple stress cracks so I either need to buy or fab a new one.

I might paint the bike Camo to represent the Canadian Forces as my wife and I have 38 years combined service.

I'd also like to fabricate a butt stop into my rear fender so I don't have to 'hang on' as much as I am now, not sure how to attack that but will stare at it for a bit in the shop and come up with a plan after some googling.
