Default Friction modifiers in gasoline

I see the "New and Improved" Shell V-Power Nitro + gasoline now includes a "friction modifier". Maybe like an upper cylinder lubricant.
What will they think of next?

Marketing Alert

https://www.shell.us/motorist/shell-...-gasoline.html

NEW Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline
Think all premium fuels are the same?
New Shell V-Power® NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline is engineered with four levels of defense against gunk, corrosion, wear and
friction to help keep your engine running like new. This patented formula is our best, most advanced fuel ever. Maybe it’s time to unthink what you think you think about premium fuel.

Our proprietary Shell SmoothGlide Technology™ provides our best protection against friction by filling in the rough spots in your engine,
forming a protective layer to help reduce friction and improve efficiency.

I usually run Shell in my Sportster. It is usually the same price as the other brands.
I get 5 cents a gallon (at least) with my Shell Fuel rewards card.
Join the Shell Fuel rewards program

They also run convience store promos. aka marketing
Right now you get another 5 cents for every $25 you spend inside the store (have to swipe the Fuel Rewards card)
They are also running buy 2 snickers bars and save 5 cents (my favorite candy bar )

Doesn't add up to much filling the Sportster 15-45 cents or so a fill up

you know at one time they sold a pill that you put into the gasoline tank and it would rebuild your engine, NO FOOLING!!!!
consider from an automotive view point: cats are very sensitive to things put into the fuel. there is at present issues with oil burn and cats so the the oil is now being looked at and being modified as we speak or in this case type, lord help us!
this reminds me of AMOCO's final filter, a big HYPE!!!! amoco died and i danced on their grave, look at their history, life long legal battles with the consumer losing, of course big brother got his money from the fines but did we get a nickle back, NAW!!!!!
as an ex: look how they played the propane market.
i worked for the zero's and most of the management needed jail time!!!

Mobil / Exxon now has a "friction modifier" in Supreme+ premium gasoline.

https://www.exxon.com/en/unleaded-gasoline

Friction modifier – new ingredient protects your engine by reducing wear and tear by 30%.‡‡ (Benefit available only in Synergy Supreme+ premium gasoline)

how about a little cooking oil with that, smells like pop corn cooking.
even diesel is evolving. it is just about as hot as gasoline, murder on older injections.

2 strokes yes, not so much on the 4's. Additionally the 2 strokes whilst EMP proof, shake like Lucifers Hammer.
4 stroke Yanmar is simplicity bliss...bit heavy for a bike but the range would be better than most Sportsters.

Plus as you said almost any crude or refined oil can be used.

I'm surprised there are no marketing claims about lubricating the fuel pump and injectors for longer life.

Red Line has said for years that SI1 fuel system cleaner included an upper cylinder lubricant.
