Default '65 xlch mag question....

Does the helical drive gear have a specific location on the shaft relative to the point cam and rotor?
Installed a Hunt rotor that never had the gear on the rotor shaft and copied or approximated the placement of the pin hole from the old rotor and drilled it.
Given the wide latitude for adjusting the timing it seems that it would not matter.
