yeah, I think the person I got the bikes from was going to do this, came with a 80 sprocket cover that mounts the master cylinder low on it.

been going to go out and look for those parts, I live in Washington state south west, fires burning in Oregon and eastern Washington, smoke is thick in the air, avoiding being outside till this mess ends.

No worries. I'm off racing this weekend.

This is a project bike that will be in my workshop for many many months yet.

Only you can answer that.

If I had bought it would have been an entirely different -hell it wouldn't even been running yet!

It was an interesting story.

Thanks for letting us watch

Bruce, sshhh...dont let on to the fact that I had fun doing it.
So I earned an extra weeks pay on the cash side of things, but thats only half of it. I sold it to a 20ish year old neighborhood kid who wanted an old bike to tinker with. I gave him a factory manual to go along with it. He asked if he could have my number to call for info. I told him come back in 1000 miles and Ill show him how to adj valves, chain ect. (or maybe Ill have my 13 yr old show him). I made sure he knew Id quiz him when he did come back, to make sure he reads the manual. Now there is another kid destined to keep the old iron rolling. That is worth more than the cash to me.
On the other hand, he got a solid bike for less than the cost of retail.
Looks like we both won.....
(I did spend the cash....Coming soon $800 1970 XLCH Deal or No deal???)

Well, he's 20 years old so technically, not child abuse.

But I advise all young people to stay away from motorcycles.

Dirty, dangerous things great for killing your social life with girls.

I show them me as an example of what can happen to you if you go down that path.
