Obviously, the amount of fuel that you can get in the tank is less for the EFI, due to the space taken up by the pump. But that doesn't necessarily mean that the usable capacity is less. That depends on the position of the fuel pick up for the EFI pump, compared to the lowest point at which the petcock can take fuel from the tank on the carby bikes. I have no idea what, if any, difference there is with that?

Yesterday, a friend with a new Iron 883 and I went to Mesquite, St. George, Cedar City, Cedar Breaks (10,000 feet elevation) Duck Creek, Mt. Carmel Junction, Zion National Park.

The stretch from Cedar City to Cedar Breaks, Duck Creek and then through Zion National Park to Hurricane, UT was 118 miles. We both took the exact same amount of fuel to refill: 1.88 gallons = ~ 63 MPG. He was not registering low fuel. I was surprised as my carbed 883 would go about 125-130 miles before going to reserve.

492 miles yesterday. 8,667 miles on my CB1100 since last November. Retirement is great!

I can get as low as ~46 MPG around town, but most of my riding is out-of-town.
Do miss the 5.8 gallon tank on my 2016 Moto Guzzi V7II.

city commuting, I get 40mpg or so. light clicks on at 80miles, fill is about 2 gals.
hwy hauls, I get almost 50mpg. light clicks at 100 miles, still about 2 gals.
I've not run it dry, but I expect my drop dead distance on hwy is about 130, accounting for fuel feed / tank position.

Got around 126 today and put 2.6 gal. in. Light seems to come on consistently, at around 108. Bone stock 883.

I CAN go 3.3 x 50 mpg = 165 miles. But won't tempt fate, the thing is too heavy to push....
