Installing valve stems 43157-83A
How tight should these be installed?
I'm thinking a reasonable amount of compression on the seal, not hogged all the way until the nut is tight?
Loctite the nut on?
Any sealant on the rubber?
72 years I never installed one!

SNUG but do not overtighten it. there is a pair of rubber washers that make the seal.. too much compression they will fail prematurely.
I have never used loctite or any sealant. maybe some syl-glide on the rubber.

Thank you!
The valve I'm using only has one rubber seal.
On the outside is the nut and washer and the washer is interesting.
It's slightly domed in the center so I'm thinking that dome should face downward centering in the hole in the rim.
Sound reasonable to you?
