Default crash bar mount

I pulled the butt ugly big wide crash bars off my 95 XLH 883. Now I want to remove the mount. Do I just pull the frame through bolt, and fasten the clutch cable guide to the frame with a short one, or does there need to be a tube running from side to side between the frame holes?

Use shorter bolt/nuts on each side. No tube needed.

I see now that they are motor mounts. What should the new nuts and bolts be torqued to?

You should have a HD service manual AND a parts catalog for your year model.
But the torque on those bolts is 25-30 ft/lb (34-41Nm).

Thanks. I've only had the bike less than a week. My first Harley. I do have the parts catalog.

So, I found a .pdf shop manual. Not sure if it is the real HD or aftermarket, but it says 30 -35 for those bolts. 25-30 is for the engine bolts. I'm glad I checked it, one was pretty loose.

Yep, I gave you (mount to engine) bolt torque.
Mount to frame is 30-35. My bad.
