How did we get on to relieving stress in frames and presumably in ourselves after a hard day?
The OP wanted help installing a spring and we still don't know if he ever got it on the bike. Maybe he is in constant search for a tree or building to lean the bike against? Maybe he is a big fella who has no trouble lifting it and just drops it on the ground until he needs it again?
To get a little further off track (or off spring), learning to stand the bike against anything you can find will come in handy because if you don't keep an eye on the clip and washer/bushing, the stand will eventually not be there when you come to a stop. So... WHEN, not IF, that happens, you ride up to a tree, push the bar full forward on the tree side, and let the bar lean against the tree. If it's on a hill, put it in gear. Sounds simple enough to dirt riders, but sometimes when shit gets thrown in your face the brain isn't working fast enough to think while straddling the bike and no way to just get off the thing.
