Good question. There are surprisingly few posts from new owners...
Are there not many Sportster S's available to buy?
Is nobody buying them?
Nobody admitting they bought one?
Are they posting about their new purchase somewhere else?

I would think people would lean more to the low ride s or the soft tail standard even the street bob
Sportster s is 14999.
Softail is 13949.
Low ride s is 18349.
Street bob is 15349.
I guess the sportster s is the bang for buck here but it's so dam ugly. Hell just buy an iron and dump a 1275 kit in it and you would be in the ball park of 16749. Sorry just ranting.

That so called "Sportster S" is one ugly bike, plus it neither sounds nor feels like a Harley. Might as well get a Japanese crotch rocket.
All of the M8 bikes have also completely lost the Harley feel. I can't tell the difference between one of those and a Goldwing. They still look like Harleys, but that's about it.
I hope to be picking up a 2000 883 this weekend. It has become obvious that H-D is not planning on making any more Harleys.
I ride Harleys for the sound and feel. I couldn't care less about performance. Even an 883 can easily cost you your license.
