I wouldn’t buy one but I would take the motor. The S styling just doesn’t really tickle my pickle. Now if they made a model with a roadster hot rod styling or a new XLCR with a modern flair.

I love my real Sportster S.... if I had to replace it would likely be an Indian FTR1200 tracker...

It's not my cup of tea. But then again, I'm a dinosaur. My pickup even has a manual transmission, I don't need one of them newfangled automatic thingies.
And even if that kind of bike was my cup of tea, well, there are any number of them to choose from on the market. The muscle bike formula has been around a long time. Think Yammer V-max. I wouldn't necessarily choose the Harley.
That's the thing about the traditional Sportster. Nothing else quite like it. Not just the common crank pin, 45 degree pushrod v-twin, either. But also the customizabilty. It's been around a long time and it's well supported in the aftermarket. You can pretty much make it into whatever you want it to be.
