I have (and used) one of the double row Burqhardt doors.
In my applications I no longer think steel or double row bearing doors are really necessary.
I think (only from what I've been told) that Ron was trying to help racers. Or at least the guys who like to go fast(er).
Far too few people work that way.

been lookin at the f'd up stuff n doin some measuring
also heard more than once bout 1cs after 72 needin 2 washers
are these both on cs3 side of 1 or one on either side?
theres a .100 washer bet 1 & 3cs
total clearance is .044 bet gears/dogs. manual says .038-.058, iirc
in assuming this is on both sides, not one or the other
gonna put it all back in case n check shaft play

The endplay is for total endplay. ie, with all shims in.
You can "juggle netween the two shims either side of the low gear but the total endplay still has to be mbt.

The 2 Canadian companies I use are fortNine https://fortnine.ca/en/ and then for Taiwan Ted parts: https://dynamiccycleparts.com/v-twin...BoCvdAQAvD_BwE
But let us know how it goes with Lloyd’s mostly ironheads. I’d rather support his shop if it’s a good source for parts. It would be easier for sure if they had a website for ordering parts. But maybe they want to be a service shop rather than a parts supplier.
