I had a stock 2001 Hugger and 5k Euros to spend in a bike...
after many thoughts and many advises (lots of them also from here)... sold the bike and bought a brand new

5k is a lot. I'd take the a couple hundred and make a mount similar to this one, throw some shinkos dual sport tires on the bike. Then take the remaining money and buy a nice new Trek or Specialized S Works and take it to the mountains for some fun.
