Default [Ignition] Points in a 2000n evo

It appears that some evo sporty's will accept ironhead points[points , mech. advance] assy with no problem. I have tried to determine if my 2000 project will also accept them , but I find different answers at different sites- Any guidance would be appreciated.

anything can be done but the "?" is why.
true i never was left on the road with points but the gain with electronic is well worth it.
apparently you never experienced the cough-back and die syndrome in heavy traffic, real bad with manual foot!!!

My `73 did good with points but I always carried a spare set as well as a condenser. Seems people always overlooked that condenser.
But I'd never go back to points.

Allow me to explain, this was a basketcase. If it had an ignition of any kind , I would go with what it had. Since simplicity is the name of the game - points it is. Guess I will go ahead and order the shovel/ironhead points kit , because the cam appears to be accommodating.

how much does that cost??
just a quick glance at some "p" ironhead and some "w" evo it appears to be a slight degree diff. that could be taken up by mod'ing the backing plate.
i run a compu-fire with mechanical adv (which you have to buy and add to run points) on my 74ch, been kicking butt since 1975. cheap enough for 125 bucks.
an ultima will run the same cost and no mechanical adv needed, just the right timing cup as hd has a silver and a gold.

Cost 35$ for advance , back plate and ching ching points and condenser [ which I will replace with quality points/condensor] , I figured as long as it seats on the cam , I can rotate 179 degree's one way or the other if need be. Thanks
