Default My custom Edelbrock Air Cleaner (56K warning)

It's a modified Edelbrock Pro-Flow A/C available for $25 at O'Reily Auto Parts. It has a 5" opening for 4-barrel carbs, so my friend Jorge cut and welded in an adapter plate and cut the opening for the carb and drilled the holes. Here's pics.

Early progress. Plate cut and welded, but not cleaned or drilled

cleaned and drilled, but not painted (I wanted black)

installed, still not painted

painted and installed

Sorry, they're directly from my 3GS; I never spent the time to figure out how to resize them.

I think it looks better in black, but it just doesn't really fit the bike to ME.

I can understand your POV, but I think it will better match once I install the black XB rocker covers. I was sold on this A/C because of how the line flow well with the engine, not the frame as I've done before with other choices. Plus, more black is to come. My plan is to have 90% of the bike in black or white.

I used to have the same air cleaner on my 77 Nova with a 70 350...
Ok, back to the future...I don't think it looks bad on THAT bike and painted black.

Holy giant pictures Batman!! OK, is it just me or is that a/c just a little too big proportionally? I mean, I think it looks great, the shape is cool, the color is perfect (can't go wrong with black right), it just seems like if of was 10-15% smaller it'd be perfect.
One more thing, I hate to thread jack buuuuuut... I like the mesh air filter style like that. I've only been able to find the one in drag specialties. A little round one with a foam element. Are there any others out there? You could pm me to avoid further thread pollution. Thanks, and now back to your regularly scheduled thread..
