Default pinion shaft nut question

Is it okay to use Loctite 263 on the pinion shaft nut?

If I remember, it's what I used. I have both 263 and 272.

I dunno. HD says use 262. 263 is meant for permanent installations. Did you use Hammers higher torque spec on the nut?

Yes, I torqued the nut to 70lb/ft.
Then someone talked to this nut for ages...now I'm uptight!

That's fine, it's not gonna come loose but removing it if you need to might be fun. You might consider getting some 262 and saving the 263 for other things. So far I've used 262 in 2 places on my Sportster, the crank pinion nut and the countershaft sprocket nut.
