i converted the turn signals and brake/tail to LED
but i don't use the underglow kit. don't really ride at night that much but not the look i'm going for.

I enjoyed reading the replies here...I like getting people's takes on things that are from different areas than me (Florida). In Florida, underglow is 100% legal on the road, as long as your not running red or blue. It can be red when applying the brakes though.

I love the comment about it being a "kid" thing. I've installed dozens of these kits and only a couple were younger than me (40). True, all but one of those was a touring model, but the most popular bike in my area the the Street Glide.

As far as some of the utility things... With the exception of my bike (my lower strips are magnetic), we only install pods on the lower frame, so that a jack can be used to service the front or rear end. Yes, some bikes will show the strips no matter what you do, but wiring is never an issue if you hide any extra wire properly, like under the tank or behind the side covers.

12 hours to do a trike install? Did you not put it on a lift?

Yep, 12 hours and no lift. Everything was done on the ground with only the aid of a scissor jack. Cutting strips to the appropriate length, sealing the ends with clear silicone after cutting, thoroughly cleaning mounting surfaces, and applying adhesive prep. etc. Very slow process and while that was my first time installing them, my brother had previously done several sets on baggers (including his own) and it still went slow. We are very particular about how we do things and like to make sure that even the work that is hidden behind something looks as neat as possible. I think it just makes it easier to troubleshoot if something goes wrong down the line. After all, I have seen plenty of bikes that have LED’s installed with wiring that looks birds nests and that is just not the way to do things at all.
